Free Community Sites

On January 4, 2011, in Free Site, Web Sites, by Kenton Ross

If you’ve ever wanted to make information available online quickly – like a new product – or a last minute change to today’s  lunch special – or maybe you don’t have a website yet – or you’re just getting started in your business and you can’t afford web design – here’s a new resource that is available for you as a subscriber.

So far, in the week that it has been up, one person used it to showcase a property he had for lease. He put up the site for free on FollowUpInfo.net and then designed a cool graphic to link to the site from his ad on Backpage. Then he turned around and put up another site with Horses for Sale.

The site runs on WordPress 3.0 and is very easy to navigate and upload photos, videos or text. It is designed to be used by the local community for sharing information – whether it is the photos from tonight’s junior hockey game or a list of things available in a garage sale – it’s there for your use, so we hope you enjoy it. You can even create multiple pages, subpages and posts with social media integration.

It’s also ideal for students to play with web design or for people who have heard about blogging and web design with WordPress and want to take it for a spin – without the restrictions of the public site or the hassle of setting up your own host, database and configuration just to try it out. Click here to get started.

We will be adding some basic tutorials soon, but in the meantime, take it out for a spin and have some fun. If you need some assistance or have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. Just send us a message from the Contact page.
